The sauna was warm, clean, and private. It could be placed off limits for the delivery of children and cleansing without disrupting village routines. Furthermore, the bathhouse had a religious significance in Finno-Ugric paganism. It served as a centre for gathering, worship, religious dance, nusic and personal repurification. - 12th Century.

This week we celebrate the end of the first month of the year of the great economic depression by feasting, making merry and having a good time (repurification!).
