Pick your celebration this week.

A difficult choice is to be made.

Picking the mid-week date as our marker, our first option is to use this week's sauna to acknowledge the Southern hemisphere's Autumnal Equinox, and the festivals of the fruit and wine harvests. We might choose to mark this occasion by theming our dinner with fruits and fine wines.

Alternatively, mid-week is the feast of St Turibius of Mongrovejo, one of Spain's jolliest inquisitors. "Time is not our own, and we must give a strict account of it", he once jested. We could perhaps mark his feast-day by tying each other up and timing how long our escapes take. Or a vigorous game of "Truth or Dare" after a light supper of bread and water.

Then again, we may choose to combine the most appealing aspects of each of these celebrations.

There will also be a sauna.

Choose your role for the evening:

Mains: Noni & Rastas (Thai-style, Penang Chicken curry)

Sides: John (rice, steamed bok-choy), Keith

Drinks: Baggage, Shez

Puddings: Kali

Kitchen slaves: Jeff, Nic (Shez' friend)

Possible late-comers: Christine J, Emma

Away: Samir, Zany, Mirri, Nicoleena

A gold coin donation is being sought from all sauna attendees to contribute to the pool and sauna components of the power bill.

RSVP by Friday if possible, please.
